Resources: Most of the resources I will need to carry out my GAME plan can be found on the Internet. I need to search for resources to revamp my lessons. There are plenty of resources on the Promethean web site that I can adapt to meet my needs. I also need to be searching for a free secure photo sharing site to use next school year. I will also need to make sure to bring home all of my pacing guides this summer so I can be sure to follow our local guidelines.
Additional Information: I think I have everything I need to begin carrying out my GAME plan. I know what I need to be searching for and most of my GAME plan revolves around me getting in gear and getting things done.
Steps Taken: So far I have not taken any steps toward accomplishing my goals set forth in my GAME plan. Right now I am trying to survive the last two weeks of school and then take a week to rest. After that I plan on working a little at a time to start revamping my lessons to include the use of my ACTIVboard on a more regular basis.

Hi Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteI have a smartboard that I need to learn how to use. Do you use your activboard often or is it a new piece of technology? I recommend taking a summer course in ACTIVboard operation to give you ideas and to help make the process easier. I am currently looking for a summer workshop on smartboards. Summer is a great time to restructure and improve lessons. Good Luck!
Hi Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteI have to say it is a busy time of year right now, and it is hard to think about anything else, but to just get through these next couple weeks. I will also be bringing lots of my resources home this summer to do some revamping, and adding some diversity and technology. Good Luck with implementing your GAME plan!

Lora,
ReplyDeleteI have been using an ACTIVboard for about 5 years now. However, I know I am not using it to its full potential. I have taken a couple of courses offered by my district on using the ACTIVboard, but am going to pursue some outside professional development. The Promethean website has lots to offer, but I have not found the time to really sit down and discover all it has to offer. Good luck with learning to use your smart board.

Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteThe idea of completely revamping your lessons seems such a daunting task, but I can understand and relate to your desire to "change them up a bit". Cennamo, Ross and Ertmer (2009) asked some very striking questions in Chapter 5, 'Customizing Student Learning Activities' which has had me in a retrospective mood since I read them. There is need for constant evaluation of one's instruction so that students receive the best quality education at all times. It is by doing this that we 'hone our teaching skills and improve the activities that we use in our classrooms' (p. 116).
Nonetheless, your task may not be so overbearing as there appears to be available electronic lesson planning software that you can use to facilitate the process.
All the best in your efforts.
